men of renown - no fallen angels here

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that... There were already giants in those days, before the supposed mating of human and angelic beings. Giants are humans, big humans, the rest of this hub supports this.

As I mentioned in a response to another hub, "everything was bigger in those days", referring to the pre-flood. I believe that from Adam to Abraham was 2000 yrs, etc; but I don't have special insight into what was before Adam. I believe the earth has been around since Adam until now.. 8010 years and i have no problem believing dragons were around in 1400bc, the remnants of dinosaurs. We have proof of big animals (dinosaur bones and skeletal remains) but I do not believe they are the result of fallen angels experimenting with bestiality. I do not believe that female angels came to earth seeing that the male animals were well endowed and took themselves mates of all they chose. hahaha. Not quite a christian sense of humor but funny anyway. forgive :) my bad.)

I found this site to be informative about pre-flood. http://www.6000years.org/frame.php?page=preflood_world

And they were also helpful about giants too. http://www.6000years.org/frame.php?page=giants (they have some lovely photos)

So I have no problem with believing that for a number of reasons that do not have anything to do with fallen angels, there were giants in the land. I totally dig that water canopy theory, What a brilliant God we serve!

and from here http://www.stevequayle.com/Giants/Africa/Giants.Africa1.html you can get examples of giant people on our planet today, but I have no thoughts that these issued from attack of the fallen angels number 2. (the sequel :)

gen 6:4 ------Men of renown------
There were giants in the earth in those days' and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they birthed children unto them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Let's look to the bible for inspiration into this phrase. Are there any men of renown mentioned before gen 6. Yes there are; gen 4:20-22 and Lamech 23,24! I will mention that these renowned people are of Cains' lineage and they seem to be integrated within the system of the world, speaking contemporaneously some could be bankers, army officers, presidents etc.

The roots of the word nephilim in the original Hebrew text via interlinear (scripture4all.org) uses the words "the ones distinguished". Which sheds light in a completely different area. From Strongs lexicon H5303 "excellent, noble, skillful". We tend to interpret the word giants as great in height but often this is our carnal mind interpreting and not our spiritual mind.
But what about great or distinguished as in "what they do". If a person were to walk into a habitat of nephilim, fallen ones or Cains' lineage, or doers of great things, men of renown, they might seem insignificant if the city or land reflected marvelous works.

so lets read it again: "There were distinguished people in the earth in those days' and also after that", (why after that? Not because the angels took wives, once before and once after the flood, I am sure God would not have allowed that to happen twice, but because the things that made the people distinguished were available still, like crafts and such. Noah built a beautiful ark, therefore he knew certain trades and so did his sons.)
when Seths' lineage came in unto Cains' lineage, and they fornicated children unto them, the same became rich and powerful humans which were of old (artificers of brass, music and greed), humans of renown."

The children of darkness are sometimes wiser than the children of light".

Interesting concept that a word might have been misinterpreted, a belief I have stood on for years. People get angry with me when I tell them that the words in the Bible have been taken from the words in another language and that the true meaning may have been lost. Would you believe that there are people in the world who do not know the Bible was translated (yeah I thought they were kidding) from ancient texts. Your take on it completely changes things, and while I am not sure on that my favorite spin is the part in Job (many ministers have told me this meant sons of Abraham, or the priests) about the Sons of God roaming the earth and then coming before Him to report and Lucifer was among them. Now that I have read your account, that actually makes more sense... Interesting.

Thanks. The bible is not complicated but often we have to search or stretch our imaginations to get 'outside' of the false teachings christianity, and christians often adhere too.
